Main wrestling maneuvers (5-20 moves).
1: Trapesius pinch. A nerve hold that works to lock up the neck. Often applied from the side or rear, forcing the victim to fight to free himself. Weardown
hold.
2: Eye gouge. Gripping the sides of the victim's head Axel jams his thumbs painfully into their eyes. This is typically used to halt the momentum of a dominant opponent.
3: Claw, floating ribs. Causes contractions in the torso that restrict breathing. Used to cause more fatigue than pain in a victim. Weardown hold.
4: Indian burn. Ludicrous as this sounds, Axel is a hardcore sadist and, given the opportunity to twist the bare flesh of an opponent he'll gladly grab on and render the skin livid. This is his way of "poking the bear", inflicting pain for no purpose other than to anger the victim.
5: Spear Hand. A tide-turner, Axel forms his hand into a weapon, evening out the tips of all four fingers, folding his thumb in and jamming his fingers into the throat of the victim or, for maximum efficiency, between the mandible and the ear. Go ahead, push your middle finger in there, apply some pressure. Now imagine someone else doing it against your will only it's a strike.
6: Hamstring thrust. Forming his fingers into a point (spear hand again), Axel jabs at the soft tissue on the back of the knee, causing a near instant Charlie Horse. Typically this is utilized as a counter to a kick. Especially a kick that Axel manages to catch. Infirming strike.
7: Tiger Strike. An unexpected type of maneuver, this attack involves hooking the fingers to form what amounts to a rough cat's claw and either thrusting with the palm or raking with the fingertips in especially violent combinations. Axel uses the Tiger Strike like a brawler uses haymakers, striking at the cheekbones, nose and jaw of the victim. Alternately, he can swing his hand in an arc and rake across the victim's body. This version of the strike is capable of tearing cloth and leaves flesh livid; in some cases bleeding. Drawn from both Krav Maga and "Dan Fu Jaw" (from Kung Fu).
8: Front heel kick. Ordinary Kung-Fu strike, quick, accurate and effective. Aimed either at the midsection or the thigh of the victim to either double him over or bring him to one knee.
9: Rear Waistlock Takedown. Done with annoying frequency, Axel likes to keep the victim on his stomach and maintain a back mount as much as possible, forcing him to muscle his way out repeatedly.
10: Teardrop Suplex. An equalizer done primarily against significantly taller opponents. Neutralizing a larger opponent's size advantage is integral to Axel's typical gameplan. High-impact throw.
Other maneuvers.
1: Rest holds, various. Again, Axel likes to frustrate opponents so anything that kills their momentum he enjoys. Headlocks, rear chinlocks, bearhugs, etcetera.
Signature maneuvers (Optional).
1: Front/side cobra choke. The "Cobra Clutch", only applied from the side or front. In both variants a top wristlock is applied, Axel's forearm is fed through the crook of the victim's arm and his wrist applies pressure to the jugular vein. Used mainly on larger and much stronger opponents (think giants, basically), Axel typically winds up riding the victim until the larger man is able to batter him off. Alternately, if uninterrupted, it is possible for this hold to render the victim unconscious. Submission/chokeout.
2: Krav Maga knee strikes (illegal). Grabbing the victim in a standing waistlock Axel pulls them forward, away from their center of gravity and hits with repeated knees to the groin. Very difficult to defend against once the waistlock is applied.
Finisher(s) (Optional).
1: Spinal Shock. Grabbing the victim by the back of the neck, Axel squeezes hard, using his free hand to prevent escape (usually by grabbing the victim's wrist) and stepping repeatedly on the back of the victim's knees Axel tries to force him down. The victim has ample opportunity to escape until forced to one knee and the hold will typically end in a rope break when applied to a fresh opponent. However, should Hardaker manage to force the victim onto his stomach he will straddle the victim, holding down one shoulder and squeezing the nerves in the sides of the neck until the victim either submits or suffers a seizure. Yes, seizure.
2: Eraser. This innocuously-named maneuver is a spear-hand thrust to the armpit. Axel first applies a top wristlock, rears back dramatically while holding the wrist behind the victim's head then jams his fingertips into the particularly vulnerable nerve cluster housed there. Perfectly applied this strike activates a sorf of "off switch" in the human body. For the purposes of pro wrestling it can be assumed that the victim that isn't immediately incapacitated sells the strike as being infirming to the limb it strikes.
Advantages (optional, equal in number to or fewer than disadvantages).
1: Grip Strength. With a steely grip exceeding 400 pounds per hand. Axel's robot-pincer-like fingers make escape from holds difficult and merely grappling with him very painful. Anyone willing to grapple with Axel on the mat will find themselves striped with abrasions from his fingertips questing for a hold. Worse still he utilizes his finger strength when using his extensive striking repertoire. Axel is one of only six people to have closed the Ironmind Captains of Crush Gripper level 4 grip (365 pounds).
Disadvantages (optional).
1: Sadistic. Toss in equal parts domineering personality and overconfidence and you have a man who takes things too far on a regular basis. Axel typically cares more for inflicting punishment than going for the kill, likes to make opponents struggle and will only work to end a match when it becomes clear that he may lose it. Casually violent, he likes to prod opponents, interviewers, officials and anyone else within range with pinches and pokes. In matches this can lead to disqualification and it certainly earns him no friends in other situations.

[Breathing deeply again, Axel spins and throws his weight on the top rope to hang, screaming bloody murder as the hook to his theme hits again. Then, cackling, he ducks into the ring.]

History.
A shell-shocked veteran of five tours of duty stretching across both Iraq and Afghanistan Axel developed a sadistic streak that ultimately threatened his military career. Aware that another incident in which innocents were caught in the crossfire or enemies were so badly abused during subdual as to be comatose could get him court martialed. As such he opted to not re-enlist and retired from the military after six years, three months, with honors. Regarded as a military hero, well-decorated for valor and with special ops training (Rangers) Axel was quickly snatched up by the Mercenary corporation; Blackwater.
Finding himself among like-minded individuals, Axel felt free to take liberties with the locals in any region he was working in. He shot first, asked questions never, beat people senseless, was verbally abusive and all with total impunity. If any real objections arose or penalties were threatened he and his unit were moved out into another hot zone. He toured all over the middle east, Asia and even parts of Europe like this. He guarded Sheiks, halted revolutions and settled petty rivalries all under the aegis of Blackwater and leeway afforded private military contractors by the US Government.
Finally, a very rich man, Axel retired. Knowing how dangerous the work was but never taking it seriously he had his mind suddenly changed as one of his friends was captured and brutally tortured and killed in Fallujah. Returning to the states he lived comfortably but was quickly bored. He needed an outlet; either fighting of some sort of suicide. Either seemed equally good but, being an atheist (really agnostic), Axel was pretty sure that he'd cease to exist if he offed himself and, if one of those religions was right, they almost all say that suicide means either hell or being a ghost. "F that" said Axel.
And so Axel went into professional wrestling, learning the trade at Ohio's F.O.R.G.E. academy and continuing his training at AWA's Kombat Korner. Axel's in wrestling out of boredom, not to make money and not out of respect for the business. He doesn't know the history and doesn't care. He chose wrestling over boxing, over MMA and every other sport for one reason and one reason only; fewer rules. He hates rules and hates being punished for breaking them even more. His style of "Gutter Fighting" (dirty fighting cobbled together from multiple disciplines commonly used in U.S. Special Forces training) didn't mesh well in any kind of regimented discipline so wrestling seemed like a natural fit.
Appearance (both physical appearance and ring attire).
Tall, strong but no giant by any means Axel has sufficient muscle on him but his strength is deceptive because it's mainly in his tendons. Take a close look at any point where a tendon might stand out (neck, wrists, ankles, etcetera) and you'll see it on prominent display. The man is wiry with a capital WIRE. Pale-skinned from a lack of sun, naturally platinum blond and with a sadistic sneer he just can't turn off the man's clearly got something wrong with him. Minimal scarring show the instincts that got him through 10 cumulative years of military and paramilitary experience.
In the ring Axel wears black cargo pants, fingerless gloves and army combat boots. His face is typically painted to look like a US flag.
To the ring Axel wears a sleeveless blue camo flak jacket. It's very much bulletproof and can shield his body from attacks in certain situations. It's also heavy and hard enough to be used as a foreign object in the right situation.
